The dataset contains the location of fossil fuel energy production facilities downloaded from the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR, http://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/member-states-reporting-art-7-under-the-european-pollutant-release-and-transfer-register-e-prtr-regulation-12). The data was selected from E-PRTR Energy sector (Sector 1) based on attributes of “Main activity: Combustion installations > 50 MW' and 'Thermal power stations and other combustion installations'”The dataset was created to be used in the HELCOM Baltic Sea Impact Index (BSII) for the HELCOM Second Holistic Assessment of the Ecosystem health of the Baltic Sea. |
